Supplements and Their Role in Reducing Chronic Kidney Disease Progression

Conservative treatment of chronic kidney disease, apart from simply treating symptoms and associated complications, consists in slowing disease progression, order to improve patient family quality life, postpone the need for renal replacement therapy reduce costs. Slowing progression involves therapeutic strategies, aiming avoid/treat malnutrition inflammation, correct anemia, treat mineral bone disorders CKD vitamin, microelement’s deficit. This review aims shed light rationale behind these strategies through evidence clinical studies recent guideline recommendations use ketoanalogues, essential aminoacids, calcium, Vit D3, iron, B12, folates unsaturated fatty acid supplements.
